Alexa is a physician assistant working in a CT surgical ICU. She joined Renegade Training in August 2020.
Alexa’s fitness journey began at 15 with weightlifting; later competing in figure and fitness competitions. She transitioned to powerlifting in college (where she met her husband, @a_vignone23)
During PA school, she discovered CrossFit as a way to get quick, effective workouts without programming them herself. Over time, her relationship with fitness shifted from aesthetics to performance; prioritizing strength, skill development, and physical capability, with aesthetics becoming a natural byproduct.
Alexa was initially drawn to Renegade because of the structured programming, but as she progressed in gymnastics and Olympic lifting, she realized the coaching, environment, and community made it the perfect fit!
One of her proudest accomplishments is maintaining her training throughout pregnancy and continuing after giving birth to her son last September. With a strong focus on movement quality and recovery, she’s confident she’s on track to become even stronger than she was pre-pregnancy. She believes deeply in the strength and resilience of women and embraces the mindset that women are capable of both bringing life into the world and returning stronger than ever.
Since joining Renegade, Alexa has discovered a genuine love for group fitness. The community and competitive environment keep her motivated and consistent. Morning workouts have become a cornerstone of her routine, giving her more energy throughout the day and helping her make more intentional nutrition choices.
Alexa credits much of her journey to the strong women around her, including @abomb.23 for coaching and motivation, @kpiper13 for pelvic floor therapy, and @sleonello for guidance and support throughout pregnancy and motherhood.
Her advice: “Fitness is you VS you. If you improve by 1% every day, it only takes 100 days to improve by 100%. Focus on how far you’ve made it and always keep pushing.”
